The Weight of Hate

There are times when you are wronged

Taken away from where you once belonged

It can sit in your stomach like a rotten meal

And ruin your days, diminish what’s real

The bitterness takes away your joy

Constantly eats away your soul

Twists and turns your story

Takes you away from former glory

You may feel that you’re about to break

Under the weight of hate

It may be justified

But have you ever tried

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is the only way to right the wrongs

Bring you back where you belong

Fill you back up like a satisfying meal

Put back into focus what matters, what’s real

Forgiveness will restore your joy

And replenish your soul

It will renew your story

Return you to former glory

You may feel that you’re about to break

Under the weight of hate

It may be justified

But have you ever tried

Forgiveness
