An Urging to Arms

An urging to arms, a fellowship gathers
To seek the lost and secret treasures
And fill the potential beyond your measures
Of countless tales and plentiful pleasures

An adventure in an unknown land
Come make your way and take a stand
Pray tell don't placate my reprimand
But go instead to lend a hand

Visually vast and changing terrain
A monument to plain disdain
Around the next corner becomes the gain
Yet challenges all the best plans lain

Escape the drudge of misery
Survey land, lakes, and misty sea
Brave wild and deadly mystery
Virtue and honor and history

Leave the sedentary day
Where boredom lives and rules decay
Breathe in the landscape's vast array
And hold the wolves and bears at bay

Remember the passion that you once forsook
Recapture the respect that others took
Discover the thrill everywhere you look
When you write a story or read a book

Create your legend or take a fall
Get yourself to the armory hall
Gird your loins and stand up tall
Cross the moat and scale the wall

Take up your weapon of ink and quill
Tell your story and lend your will
Refine your wisdom through your grey grinding mill
Where joy abounds and glistens still
